The Dean of Students Office is now accepting applicatin for the Tranfer Orientation Guide Leader (TOGL) position.

Orientation Mission Statement

To give students and parents a positive experience and enough information to feel comfortable and confident about returning to Virginia Tech in the fall.

Transfer Orientation Guide Leader Overview

Three Transfer Orientation Guide Leaders (TOGLs) will be selected to assist with the “Getting on Track” transfer orientation program. TOGLs will work collaboratively with the Orientation Office Team to recruit, select and train the Transfer Orientation Guides (TOGs). TOGLs will also provide leadership to a team of TOGs.

  • Open to VT students who have earned 45 credits (at least 12 at VT) by fall 2009
  • Not be enrolled in 2010 second summer session classes
  • Must be enrolled at VT in fall 2010
  • Interact with new students through icebreakers, small group sessions and other orientation activities
  • Serve as a resource for new students and parents, as well as other orientation attendees
  •  Help integrate new students to the Hokie community.
Transfer Orientation Guide Leaders (TOGL) 3 Applications now being accepted
  • Open to 2009 TOG's
  • Interact with new transfer students through icebreakers, small group sessions and other orientation activities
  • Serve as a resource for new transfers and parents, as well as other orientation attendees
  •  Help integrate new students to the Hokie community.
  • Assist with the recruitment, selection, and training of Transfer Orientation Guides (TOGs)
Transfer Orientation Guide (TOG) 15 Applications available January 2010
  • Open to VT transfer students
  • May be enrolled in summer session I but courses must not interfere with training and orientation sessions.
  • Interact with new transfers through icebreakers, small group sessions and other orientation activities.
  • Serve as a resource for new transfers and their guests.
  • Help integrate new transfers to the Hokie community.
